NACD Releases
Promotional Videos

During the 2018 Annual Meeting in Nashville, NACD debuted a series of three promotional videos to highlight what conservation districts and the national association do on a daily basis to protect our nation’s natural resources.

On NACD’s YouTube channel, you can find an RFD-TV profile of the McGavock High School FFA program and NACD service project. RFD-TV visited McGavock High School in the heart of Nashville on January 26 for a day of service, where FFA students and NACD leadership installed raised beds for vegetable production and horticulture study.

President Brent Van Dyke says work like this is part of his organization’s mission. “As an organization that reaches across America—3,000+ conservation districts nationwide, every county, parish in America has a conservation district—we’re about sustainable agriculture and making sure that we can produce the food and fiber to feed those who cannot feed themselves. Being able to come to this high school and work with these students, it’s just a wonderful opportunity. We’re so impressed with the skillset that the FFA students here bring to this project.”

Davidson County Soil Conservation District, Davidson County Farm Bureau and Five Rivers Resource, Conservation, & Development Council provided the funding to make this project possible and Metro Davidson County provided the funding for the ADA compliant raised beds.
